As an offshoot of the power division, the group has branched into the manufacture of chemicals at its plant in Sholapur district, Maharashtra.

The installed capacity of the plant is 60KLPD of Ethanol per day. A renewable energy source derived from mollases, ethanol is blended with petrol or diesel to ensure a cleaner environmental effect. The latest technology of ECOMOL-MSDH has been used. With operations set to take off shortly, the endeavour will have manifold positive effects on import bills, sugarcane production and foreign exchange outflow.
